“ We went to two different locations and service cannot be faulted. Staff are mostly friendly and helpful. Food was amazing selection of cocktails was very good as well. Although no wine on first night. ”
“ Food came out really quickly and the portions were bigger than anticipated, the staff were very friendly and accommodating and the cocktails were fantastic. Definitely a go to spot now! ”
“ Chilled place to get some breakfast and a nice tea just as I landed in Brisbane for the weekend. Peter was absolutely brilliant, and provided very friendly and great service! ”
“ No complaints about the food and I will happily visit again. Plenty of seating normally but it can get busy at times. ”
“ The Annex lured me in with a headline-grabbing A-frame on the footpath and an open, atrium-style setting that looked far too civilised to ignore. From across the road it promised coffee, calm, and the faint illusion that I had my life together. I was greeted by Peter, who immediately ran me through the breakfast options and specials with the efficiency of a man who has rescued many a caffeine-deprived soul before me. I went simple: two eggs on sourdough and a flat white. Now, it’s hard to romanticise two eggs on toast. They are what they are. But these arrived quickly, were done properly, and for something light, absolutely nailed the brief. Sometimes you want to eat breakfast, not be assaulted by it. This was refreshment, not a full English interrogation. The real win here is the space. Quiet, airy, and removed from the usual Brisbane CBD clatter. Perfect for sitting alone with your thoughts before a big day, or pretending to check emails while actually just staring into the middle distance. 10/10 for location and ambiance. If you want calm, coffee, and a breakfast that doesn’t require a recovery nap, The Annex is playing a very solid game. ”
“ I’ve been coming here for the past 6 years and it’s still one of my go-to spots. The atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed, whether you’re catching up with friends after work or just stopping by for a casual meal. The staff have consistently been friendly and attentive over the years, which is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Service is quick, the drinks are cold, and the food is always reliable and satisfying. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable every time you walk in. Great vibe, solid pub classics, and a dependable local favourite. Highly recommend! ”
“ Relaxed and comfortable pub with great menu and vast range of tap beer and well stocked spirits . The bar staff are friendly and helpful , the background music was easy listening and volume was perfect for easy conversation. Great for a quick meeting or relaxed after work drinks. Plenty of sports screens as well. ”
“ went here with a huge group (50+) so was prepared to be understanding for slower service - but wasn’t pleased that the pepsi i ordered didn’t come until after asking multiple staff, even after everyone’s food started to arrive think the system needs to change as many of us got texts saying “some orders may not have been received by the kitchen) causing confusion about wether or not our food was going to be received and also caused everyone’s food and drinks to be delivered at very different times - having to order and pay online is also not helpful when you have older guests the medium rare steak I ordered also came overcooked but thankfully the waiter didn’t have a problem with taking it back to be recooked overall the waiters were kind and tried their best despite the big group and busy rush ”
